My P is so flawless and such a great shooter, I saw no reason to have both. I shoot my pistols and don’t like safe queens, so it was an easy choice. ZERO, absolute zero regrets buying a Prodigy. Learned the 2011 platform on it. IMO (having owned a P DUO and picked up a Prodigy this morning) the Staccato has better build quality. The frame and slide finish is superior, the slide to rail fitment is slightly better (slide racks more smoothly on the Staccato) and the Staccato trigger is slightly crisper and lighter. I'd put the Springfield at 95% vs the Staccato's 100%. I’ve seen a lot of upgraded and customized Springfield DS Prodigy’s out there that look great. I know of the QC issues with the stock Prodigy’s which seem to be fixed by upgrading some of the internals. It seems like you can actually buy a Prodigy, upgrade and customize it for the price of a Staccato P, or maybe even less.
